A consortium of 58 leading diamond and jewellery exporters of India, Diamond India Limited (DIL), one of the major rough diamond sourcing companies of India, has the support of the Government of India for procurement of rough diamonds from leading mines throughout the world. However, diamond procurement is not the only task of the company.
DIL currently sources rough diamonds from Alrosa, Russia, as also rough diamonds of Angolan origin. It is in the advanced stage of negotiation with certain other leading mining companies of the world.
