RICHMOND
A $9.1 million construction project at the Virginia War Memorial will help honor the sacrifices of the state's military veterans between the annual gatherings for Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day .
Site work started July 1 on The Paul & Phyllis Galanti Education Center along South Belvidere Street in downtown Richmond. The project is scheduled to wrap up by the middle of next year, adding 18,000 square feet of space for educational programs, reunions and other activities.
