ABOITIZ Transport System Corp. (ATSC) defied the government order grounding its passenger-cargo ships and continued plying its routes on Tuesday.
The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) on Monday suspended the operation of Aboitiz s passenger-cargo ships pending reinspection.
Marina grounded Aboitiz s passenger-cargo vessels following the sinking of SuperFerry9 off Zamboanga Peninsula on Sunday.
Justifying the continued operation of its ships, ATSC said that it filed a motion for reconsideration on the Marina order shortly after it was served the cease-and-desist and the show cause orders on Tuesday morning.
