Firm seeks backers to bring BreastScan device to market

Infrared Sciences (Hauppage, New York) is seeking investors or partnership alternatives to bring its product, BreastScan IR, to market, now that it has a 510(k) approval in hand.

BreastScan IR uses digital infrared imaging to assist in the early detection of breast cancer, made possible by a what Infrared Sciences President Tom DiCicco called a tremendous amount of advancement technologically in infrared imaging in the mid-1990s, primarily as a result of the Persian Gulf war in the early 1990s.
