Attorney Gerson Smoger believes the St. Louis Post-Dispatch was part of a nationwide effort in the early 1990s to deny just compensation to dioxin poisoning victims. He remembers one event from his dioxin trial against Syntec in vivid detail.
"We were in the middle of presenting our medical evidence when the three main negotiators for Syntec walked into the courtroom with big grins on their faces," he says.
