According to recent research published in the Journal of Plant Registrations, "ND901CL' (Reg. No. CV-1029, PI 655233) hard red spring wheat (HRSW) (Triticum aestivum L.) was developed at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and released by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station (NDAES)."
