This week KONGSBERG booked a contract valued at $188 million with the United States Army for the delivery of additional Protector Remote Weapon Stations (RWS). This order is part of the $1.4 billion Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) framework agreement signed in August 2007.
The Protector RWS, a part of the KONGSBERG family of Remote Weapon Stations, is designed to increase troop safety and precision by enabling the operator to acquire and engage targets while inside the protection of a vehicle.
