In May last year my friend, Margaret, invited me to an informal lunch she was giving for Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, a Tibetan monk who was giving teaching in the UK, his attendant Shenga-la, and some of her group. She suggested that I bring the Lotus Sutra Project * in case Rinpoche had time to look at it. He did--all of it! Half way through he said, 'I want you to go to study with my brother Salga in Kathmandu. Two weeks only--that is enough to learn the proportions of the basic four beings, the Buddha, Chenresig, Manjusri and Vajrapani.' Two of these beings I was familiar with and two I was not.
