For Lincoln Park Stone Inc.'s quarry in Putnamville, Ind., adding a specialized riprap plant gave the operation the ability to supply larger riprap size material to the Departments of Transportation (DOT) in Indiana and Illinois. It is one of four plant setups the company has on its 300-acre site.
Lincoln Park Stone and S&G Excavating Inc. are owned by Ken Steiner and his cousins--Jack and Mike Steiner. Their fathers began S&G Excavating in 1956. The Lincoln Park Stone side of the business includes two quarries, two sand-and-gravel operations and a contract crushing/screening business.
