GOING to The Public for the Days Out feature opposite left me wondering... what's the state of play with the MAC these days? It's almost 18 months since it was closed for a pounds 13.5 million rebuild.
Alas, major problems with the building's susceptibility to flooding has put back the "return of the MAC" till 2010.
Well, given that it's on top of an old pool in between a river and a lake (that is itself at the bottom of an often soggy hill) suggests this site wasn't the cleverest place to start with in the 1960s! Any more than I've yet to be convinced that reimagining a tired old building is better than starting again from scratch.
