HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1998--The York Group Inc. (NASDAQ:YRKG), today announced that it has acquired Cercueil Lauziere Inc. located in St-Leonard d'Aston, Quebec, a manufacturer of wood caskets and coffins. As part of the transaction, York announced the completion of a distribution and supply agreement for metal casket components and assembled caskets as well as wood caskets and coffins with Cercueils Magog (1994) Inc., located in Deauville, Quebec.
The Lauziere acquisition strengthens York's wood casket production capacity. Caskets produced by Lauziere will primarily serve funeral home customers in the Eastern Canada and northern New England ...
