FORT WAYNE, Ind.--Jun. 2--Fort Wayne International Airport has closed a deal to move an air cargo company's hub operations here, and contractors could start building facilities for it within days.
Airport officials expect the facilities -- including a $7.5 million, 32-acre aircraft parking area -- will be in full use by American International Freight by the end of June 1999.
The office of U.S. Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., announced a $2.5 million Federal Aviation Administration grant for the ramp's construction today. The airport closed its deal last week to relocate AIF hub operations from Terre Haute.
