HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) said its Outrider(TM) Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) completed two autonomous landings at the company's flight operations center in Glasscock, Texas, demonstrating the system's ability to perform this critical flight function without the aid of an external pilot.
Don Cattell, vice president, Unmanned Vehicle Systems and Outrider TUAV program director, said the first landing concluded the air vehicle's first entirely autonomous flight, which included autonomous takeoff and execution of a predetermined mission plan.
