A study presented in September at the American Academy of Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery Foundation's annual meeting found that older adults commonly experience these problems but dismiss them as part of normal aging. These conditions may cause increased depression, anxiety and social withdrawal, the researchers reported.
