India's first standard gauge metro car and the first aluminium 80-tonne wagon was rolled out by Bharat Earth Movers Ltd at a function here today.
The BG Metro train is a four car formation, comprising two driving trailer cars and two motor cars with a capacity to carry 1,506 passengers. The cars have electrically automated passenger doors to ensure passenger safety.
The airconditioned cars have been manufactured to global standards and have fire retardant GFRP interior panels.
