Posture is an important part of your exercise regime but it is easily forgotten - especially when we are short of time. Last week, I explained the effects of an excessive arch in the lower back and how to alleviate the lower back pain that it often causes with stretches designed to lengthen tight muscles.
Another common postural problem is rounded shoulders, below right. Known as an excessive kyphotic curve in the upper back, this can be caused by spending too much time sitting at a desk, or doing too many exercises that target the chest muscles in the gym, for example.
