Sep 13, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The joint venture partners behind the Gorgon LNG project are expected to formally approve the deal on 14 September 2009. Analysts welcomed the deal, but said profits could be limited by Qatar's plans to begin distributing LNG to Asia. Qatar is the biggest LNG producer in the world, although Australian companies have long believed that the Middle Eastern nation would continue to focus on markets in Europe and the US.
