Daytona 500 qualifying will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6, next year, rather than on Sunday, to avoid being overshadowed by the Super Bowl.
Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway have swapped dates for next spring's Cup races. TMS win run on April 18, PIR's usual weekend. PIR will run on April 10 to avoid conflict with the final round of the PGA's Masters event on April 11, now the day after PIR's Saturday-night race. Under the traditional schedule, the Texas race would have gone head-to-head with the Masters for TV ratings on Sunday.
