Two technologies that have come to symbolize the renewable energy industry are starting to pop up on the roofs and in the yards of companies in Northeast Ohio because of government subsidies and a growing sensitivity to both energy prices and the environment.
Several businesses in the region have installed solar panels over the past few years, and a few have installed wind turbines. Plus, the number of Ohio companies that have received state grants to fund such projects exploded in 2008, though it has slowed this year.
