Lazard Ltd.: Tom Tuft, 62, will join the financial advisory and asset management firm as chairman of global capital markets advisory and vice chairman of U.S. investment banking in November. He is chairman of the equity capital markets group at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he has worked for more than 30 years.
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York: Denis M. Hughes, 59, was named chairman, after serving as acting chairman since May. He had been deputy chairman since January 2007. Mr. Hughes has served as a director since 2004.
