Chennai-based Jeypore Sugar Company Limited is setting up a Rs 200-crore sugarcane crushing unit at Pothavaram in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.Company managing director Rajeswary Ramakrishnan said the plant with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes crushing per day (tcd) would go on stream early next year.
While plant and machinery erection is almost complete, the ancillary systems are being in put place. It is hoped that the new mill will commence operations in the coming season depending on the cane availability, she said at the company s annual general meeting.
