From an AAR press release: "The large freight railroads must recognize their essential partnership with short line and regional railroads and are working with small railroads to come up with mutual development strategies. The major railroads pledge to the STA to continue this important dialog to insure effective relationship between Class land short line railroads."
The occasion for these remarks was an STB hearing on rail access and competition issues.
