Downtown site eyed for VA clinic
PeaceHealth is hoping to bring a new Veterans Administration medical clinic downtown. City leaders are hoping the VA moves to a property ripe for redevelopment - PeaceHealth's Medical Group building at Willamette Street and 12th Avenue.
Eugene food factory to shut
Monterey Gourmet Foods, owner of salsa and dip maker Emerald Valley Kitchen, will close its Eugene facility and move manufacturing of Emerald Valley Kitchen products to Kent, Wash. The Eugene plant was to close Sept. 4, putting 25 employees out of work.
