BOYLSTON - The commemoration ceremony at a bench in a place called "Pliny's Allee" - as in the Roman scholar Pliny the Elder - is a tipoff, as is the lecture by Carla Capaldo, an expert on Italian food and wine.
John W. Trexler, executive director of the Worcester County Horticultural Society, likes all things Italian.
He also loves Mexican food.
Which explains why his 25th anniversary tribute Saturday and Sunday at the society's Tower Hill Botanic Garden headquarters will encompass a potpourri of Mr. Trexler's wide-ranging interests - including tacos and burritos at the $250-a-plate gala dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. ...
