Patti Marine Enterprises Inc., Pensacola, Fla., has begun work on a 58'x22'x7' steel towboat for the Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District. The Cenwk will be powered by a pair of Caterpillar C12 engines each developing 385 hp at 1,800 rpm. The Cats will turn a pair of Rolls-Royce Naval Marine 48"-dia. wheels through Twin Disc MG-516 gears with 4.04:1 ratios. When delivered in March 2010, the Cenwk will support the Kansas City District's operations and maintenance mission on the lower Missouri River.
