With bold flavors and cool inclusions, ice cream is heating up for its hottest selling season
It's going to be a very hot summer for ice cream. Just check out some of the season's cool new flavors: Milk Chocolate Mud Bath, debuting under the Newman's Own label from Ben & Jerry's; Carrot Cake Ice Cream from Blue Bell; Girl Scouts Thin Mint Cookie Ice Cream from Edy's; and Marionberry Pie from Tillamook County Creamery.
With emphasis on flavors carried to the indulgent "supreme," combined with a twist on nutrition and innovative packaging concepts (see sidebar), the ice cream category is shaping up for the best selling season it's had in quite a while.
