Jun. 12--The city of Harrisburg plans to sell the downtown Ramada Inn to a Maryland-based investment group that wants to turn it into an upscale hotel catering to business travelers.
Monarch LLC of Frederick, Md., and the city hope to complete the deal by the end of the month, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.
A spokeswoman with Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts in Atlanta confirmed Thursday that it is reviewing an application to accept the Second Street hotel as part of its chain.
Should the sale go through, $7 million in renovations are planned to bring the hotel up to Crowne Plaza ...
