According to recent research from Dusseldorf, Germany, "For decades, the well-established standard recommended treatment for patients with congenital lobar emphysema (CLE) and respiratory distress has been lobectomy of the affected lobe or lobes, whereas indications for conservative management have been controversially discussed.
