Just in time for the return of thousands of college students, AT&T* announced that a temporary cell site on wheels (COW) has been set up near Harvard Square in Cambridge to enhance 3G wireless coverage around the Harvard Quad as well as near the Cabot, Currier and Pforzheimer Houses.
"Our long-term plan is to replace the COW with a permanent cell site," said William Leahy, vice president of Atlantic region legislative and regulatory affairs for AT&T. "We are currently working with Harvard and the city of Cambridge to develop a solution that will provide the best experience for our customers in this historic area."
