So, the winner of the Outstanding New Talent gong at the second annual OBSR Honours for Excellence in Investment began his fund management career on Albert E Sharp smaller companies as recently as 1997 and took charge of Gerrard smaller companies just 10 years ago.
Certainly, Dan Nickols, who does not seem to have been terribly fazed by the prospect of taking over from Ashton Bradbury on Old Mutual UK select smaller companies four years ago, raised an eyebrow at this definition of "new" before picking up his award at the spanking OBSR honours dinner at the Dorchester.
(And, yes, I concede there is a risk of bias on my part because ...
