BOSSES at a top Scottish financial firm are facing a race against time to find a missing policyholder who is due a windfall worth more than [pounds sterling]100,000.

Scottish Widows say almost 34,000 people are owed around [pounds sterling]70million after failing to cash in when the the firm demutualised nine years ago.

While the average payment is worth just over [pounds sterling]2,000, one lucky investor - a 64-year-old man - is due to receive a staggering [pounds sterling]102,645 jackpot. But the mystery man only has until March next year, when time to register a claim runs out, to get his money.
