Mercury Marine sues Brunswick

LAKE FOREST u About 100 Mercury Marine managers are suing its parent company over unpaid bonuses. The managers want $7 million in promised bonuses, plus punitive damages for a total of $10.5 million. The lawsuit says top Mercury executives set up a cost-savings plan in April 2008 that promised managers 10 percent of whatever savings were achieved. As a result of cost reductions, the managers were due $7 million. But, in December the company decided not to pay the bonuses. An affidavit seeking to move the case to federal court in Green Bay says about 70 percent of the managers live in Wisconsin. Mercury Marine released a statement ...
