Compared to its neighbours Abu Dhabi, Iran, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, Qatar has had limited logistics for oil exports or marketing. But it is expanding rapidly in this respect, with QPI to invest in overseas refining and distribution systems for oil products. Yet QP and its IOC partners have built up impressive logistics for LNG exports, with Qatar having become world leader in this respect. Together with its foreign partners, QP is investing in overseas LNG receiving and regasification terminals (see gmt11QatrGasExpSep14-09). It has the world's largest LNG terminal at Ras Laffan being expanded to handle gas liquids and ultra-clean fuels from GTL ventures.
