INTRODUCTION
The incidence of serious infections caused by yeast, particularly species of Candida, has increased dramatically during the past decade. Oral candidiasis, formerly dismissed as an simple infection occurring in denture wearers, is now one of the most common opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients such those undergoing chemo therapy, HIV-infected persons and transplant recipients (1), (2).
