Article: Effect of divalent ions (A = Ca, Ba and Sr) substitution in La-A-Mn-O manganite on structural, magnetic and electrical transport properties.(Report)

INTRODUCTION

In recent year there has been a lot of research study in Colossal Magnetoresistance (CMR) effects in rare-earth manganite perovskite with general formula [La.sub.[1-x]][A.sub.x]Mn[O.sub.3] (A = Ba, Sr, Pb and Ca) due to their potential technology application. These compounds are [Mn.sup.3+] rich and doping of divalent atoms introduces mixture valency of [Mn.sup.3+] and [Mn.sup.4+] ions plays a major role in Double Exchange (DE) ferromagnetic interaction coupled with metallic resistivity. Double exchange effect is an exchange of electrons from neighboring [Mn.sup.3+] to [Mn.sup.4+] ions through oxygen when their core spin are parallel and hopping is ...
