As she remembers it today, a couple of million dollars later, Laurie Nowatzke first regarded the advertising brochure for Bay Harbor resort as just another piece of junk mail.
She pitched it in the wastebasket.
"But there was something about it that caught my attention," she recalled. "So I fished it out. And then I flew up to Petoskey to see the development. I fell in love with the place."
That was two years ago.
Nowatzke and her husband, Tom, have since purchased three penthouse condominiums and six waterfront lots at Bay Harbor.
