PUEBLO, Colo.-Street fights here were once fought by gunslingers. Today, it's the big-box retailers drawing lines in the dirt and the newest gun in town is American Furniture Warehouse.

The ninth and newest 100-square-foot American Furniture Warehouse superstore, which opened last week, shimmers in the sun on the plains near Pikes Peak like a white concrete oasis for home furnishings consumers.

Its red, white, and blue logo is as American as a John Wayne western.
