MELBOURNE, Sept 24 Asia Pulse - Australia's Mirrabooka Investments Ltd (ASX:MIR) has warned that company dividends in Australia may lag behind an expected upturn in earnings.
Mirrabooka's chairman, Terry Campbell, told shareholders at the company's annual general meeting on Thursday it was likely that earnings across the economy had bottomed, as fixed costs had been cut and balance sheets repaired.
"It is likely we have seen the low point for earnings and dividends, however the recovery in dividends may lag the upturn in earnings," Mr Campbell told shareholders in Melbourne.
