SOUTHBRIDGE - A long overdue repair to the roof on the 110-year-old fire station is under way.
The project, expected to be finished by Sept. 29, is on time and on budget, officials said earlier this month.
Leading Way Construction Inc. of Milton is doing the repair for $330,800. Workers are replacing the slate roof.
For a time, slate had been removed from the building's facade, and it just had a waterproof shield. The contract calls for slate to be reinstalled on the facade, Town Manager Christopher Clark said.
