Over the years, Cuba has generated headlines with its occasional purchases of Washington state apples, Oregon pears, Nebraska wheat and even cattle from Florida.

Yet U.S. food sales to Cuba under the 2000 Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act (TSRA)--which hit a record $710 million in 2008--are dominated by agribusiness giants like Archer Daniels Midland, Louis Dreyfus Commodities and Bunge Ltd.

As such, one thing you don't see a lot of in Cuba are processed, branded and packaged food products from the United States.
