Anyone who thinks that the Legislature is spending too much time on fluff may not be that far off.
The Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight will hold hearings today on bills to name the Fluffernutter the state's official sandwich, the NECCO wafer the official wafer, and crown the Charleston Chew the state candy bar.
While some may think these bills are nothing but empty calories, their sponsors say they are a sweet way to teach kids about the legislative process and support local businesses.
