Acorn to launch 3G handset model in China in November
Shanghai. September 23. INTERFAX-CHINA - New York Stock Exchange-listed Acorn International Inc., China's largest TV direct sales company, will launch a self-branded 3G handset in November, the company's chief executive officer told Interfax on Sept. 23.
"We will team up with handset design house Amoi Electronics Co. Ltd. to launch a dual-mode 3G GSM/WCDMA handset in November," James Hu, Acorn International's CEO, said.
The handset will be priced between RMB 2,000 ($292.75) and RMB 2,500 ($365.94) and be sold directly through Acorn's own sales and distribution channels.
