"Spontaneous dwarf rats are a useful experimental model for studying various biologic events associated with pituitary dwarfism. Dwarf rats occurred serendipitously in our colony of Wistar rats during experimental breeding," scientists in Sao Paulo, Brazil report (see also Comparative Medicine).
