Morgan Stanley: James P. Gorman, 51, will become chief executive effective Jan. 1, replacing John J. Mack, who will remain chairman. Mr. Gorman also will join the firm's board of directors at the end of the year. He most recently served as co-president.
Providence Equity Partners Inc.: Richard D. Parsons, 61, former chief executive of Time Warner, joined the private equity firm as a senior adviser. He will continue as chairman of Citigroup and as a director of Estee Lauder Cos.
