OXFORD - Selectman Henry J. LaMountain said he fully supported a plan to honor an elementary school teacher who taught him lessons that still affect his life.
During her 25-year teaching career and many years of volunteer service, Alison M. "Sal" Spitz had an impact on her students and on the town through her appreciation of history and love of beauty, said George J. Starkus, chairman of the Downtown Beautification Committee.
"When Sal left us, we lost a valuable committee member, and this town lost a dear friend," he said.
