Jun. 19--The Valley's home resale market cooled slightly in May compared with April, but sales are still way ahead of last year's record pace.
In May, 4,580 existing homes across metro Phoenix sold, according to the Arizona Real Estate Center at Arizona State University. That compares with 4,625 home sales in April and 4,900 in March.
For the first five months of 1998, 19,675 home resales have been recorded, up significantly from 17,020 for the same period last year.
