Stacks of e-mails made public last night at Boston City Hall show Mayor Thomas M. Menino's top lieutenant getting Google alerts on two mayoral rivals, setting up "joke practice" for the mayor's St. Patrick's Day performance and fretting over rats in the North End.
Page after page of the 5,018 e-mails - dropped on a table in the law office inside City Hall long after everyone had gone home - detail the workaday life of Michael J. Kineavy, Menino's chief policy adviser and key political strategist.
The e-mails were all sent or received by Kineavy, who double-deleted them from his City Hall ...
