JALALABAD (PAN): The canal system, washed away by the last month floods in the eastern Nangarhar province, was reconstructed on Thursday. Canals Department Director Eng. Muhammad Hakeem told Pajhwok Afghan News the largest canal of the province was damaged at three places, following which the flow of water was suspended.
He said the reconstruction cost 1.5 million afghanis and the work took two weeks to complete.
