Companies that make supplier relationships a priority are rewarded with better financial performance and greater customer satisfaction. But only one-fourth of the 450 companies surveyed around the world are actually taking advantage of the opportunity.
"For many companies, suppliers provide a unique opportunity to enhance overall company performance," says Paul Inglis, a vice president at the international management consulting firm A.T. Kearney. "Companies that take the time to cultivate better supplier relationships can negotiate better prices and delivery times, and create opportunities for both sides to innovate, leading to improved performance."
