Dear Vicki: It's time to sew for fall, and I'm feeling brave. I really want to make a blazer-type jacket, but I know it will be difficult, and I need help choosing a pattern. Also, can you help with any tips for the hard parts? Thanks.

Dear Suzie: A blazer jacket can have a close or easy fit (that is a loose, masculine fit), so decide that first. I am recommending a loose fit for your first jacket. Kwik Sew 3715 has a nice classic look. Definitely use view B, with patch pockets and no hanky pocket.
